Dedicated Media Room After Downsizing
After relocating from Cornwall to Welshpool, this customer wanted to recreate the immersive entertainment experience they had enjoyed in their previous home. Having previously invested in a bespoke cinema room, they were keen to ensure their new property could offer the same level of performance, despite the change in space.
The chosen room was a 4.5 x 4.5 metre third bedroom, which provided an ideal opportunity to create a dedicated media room. When the customer first approached us, they were unsure which route to take and were initially considering either a large television or an ultra short throw projector solution.
Rather than committing to a specification before experiencing the options available, we invited the customer to visit our demonstration facilities. This allowed them to see and hear different systems in action and understand what was possible within their new space.

Challenges and Solutions
The main challenge was helping the customer define the right approach for their new media room. Having previously enjoyed a bespoke cinema, expectations were naturally high, but the customer wanted guidance on how best to balance performance, room size and equipment choice.
During their demonstration visit, the customer was particularly impressed by the picture quality and performance of a 4K projector system. This helped confirm that a projection-based solution was the right choice, leading them towards an anamorphic-style cinema experience rather than a conventional television setup.
For the visual system, we specified the BenQ W5850 True 4K Laser Projector paired with a Pure Theatre 150-inch Acoustic 4K|8K Fixed Frame Projector Screen. The acoustically transparent screen allowed the front speakers to be positioned behind the image, creating a more authentic cinema layout with accurate dialogue placement and a cleaner overall aesthetic.
Audio performance was equally important. Following the demonstration, the customer highlighted the clarity and detail of the DALI speakers they experienced, making them the ideal choice for the new room. Three DALI Phantom M-375 LCR in-wall speakers were installed behind the screen to provide a powerful front soundstage, while four DALI Phantom K-60 in-ceiling speakers created an immersive overhead sound field.

The finished media room transformed what was once a spare bedroom into a dedicated cinematic space that matched the quality and immersion of the customer's previous bespoke cinema.
By taking the time to experience different solutions during the demonstration process, the customer was able to move from uncertainty between TV and projector options to a fully tailored cinema design built around their preferences.
The result is a high-performance media room combining a stunning 150-inch 4K projection system, immersive surround sound and carefully selected components, providing the customer with a premium entertainment experience in their new Welshpool home.
