Interior Designer Installs hidden projector screen in Paris Apartment
This 54 m² apartment is located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, within a late 19th-century post-Haussmannian building. Offering views of the Sacré-Cœur and the neighborhood of Montmartre this is a stunning property which has undergone a full renovation.
Architect Chloé Guérillot has completed the full renovation of the property which preserved the proportions and retains distinctive Haussmannian traits, while reinterpreting the materials through a more contemporary lens. Most of the previously orthogonal angles have been softened and curved introducing a new fluidity to the space.
A fully stainless-steel kitchen and the furniture in the living area follow these new curves, integrating seamlessly. The renovartion as a whole was designed in close relation to the owners’ daily life, notably including a Pure Theatre ceiling recessed projection screen hidden in the false ceiling of the open kitchen. An alternative to a TV, which would have been completley out of place in this sleek design. At the touch of a button the projector screen comes down, separating the living room from the kitchen and defines the home cinema space. Specyifing a ceiling recessed projector screen provides the homeowner with the screen they desire without upsetting the harmonious balance of the interior design.
A series of custom birch plywood furniture pieces respond to one another across spaces, through their materiality or their form, sometimes rectilinear, sometimes rounded. They optimize the corners, providing additional storage or functional solutions in the apartment’s complex angles.
Our team at Pure Theatre can work closely with interior designers to show them the possibilities concealed home cinema systems produce. Allowing designers complete freedom without the restrictions that large televisions place on the space. Together we can create beautiful rooms that still meet the needs of homeowners.
