CONCEALED HOME CINEMA
Integrating a home cinema into a 1930’s renovation
Instagram is full of impressive home renovations but when we came across @fromrenotorightnow (previously @mybigfat1930snest) we must say it was a cut above the rest. Rather than replacing the charm of this 1930s build, the owner Emma Duncan has managed to create a modern family home whilst maintaining the character of the property.
This place is proof that you do not need to compromise to integrate modern luxuries. Benefiting from a huge rear extension the renovated property oozes space and light. It incorporates a state-of-the-art kitchen as well as in-ceiling speakers and a recessed projector and screen.
Although they wanted a large open plan living space the owners were determined not to let this big space feel like a massive hall. The kitchen is light and bright and the living room feels snug and relaxed.
It is in this living space that a drop ceiling has been used to house a projector, screen and in-ceiling speakers. This transforms this snug living room into an entertainment space for the family to use.
This project uses the Pure Theatre CR50 Projector Lift and Pure Theatre CR180 Projector Screen. Motorised to disappear at the touch of a button you can have the luxury of a home cinema without compromising on the aesthetics of your room.
